Retiring KCBS-AM Anchor Stan Bunger Began 'His Love Affair with Radio' at SF State

SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE -- A native of San Francisco, Bunger said he was a schoolkid who “read everything and talked too much.” He began his love affair with radio as a student at San Francisco State. He walked into the campus radio station and seems never to have left one.

“I love the magic of radio storytelling,” he said. “The immediacy. And the intimacy. ... I never wanted to do anything else.”
