THE UNION (GRASS VALLEY) -- At age 25, KVMR 89.5 FM volunteer broadcaster Sean Dooley may very well be part of the eclectic station’s “next generation.” He’s by far the youngest daytime host on the non-commercial Nevada City radio station, where he’s now hosting “The New Bleat” from 2 to 4pm Fridays. Dooley caught the radio bug, started doing some announcing on his dad’s show and went on to graduate from San Francisco State with a degree in broadcasting with an emphasis on audio production. In San Francisco, he was an intern for a couple years at stations like KNBR and KFOG, where he found commercial radio just isn’t the same as KVMR. “I found deejays there frustrated by the system,” Dooley said. “They couldn’t play the music they wanted to play.”
