Vine’s literary research is engaged with language, style and meter, and he also works on Archaic Latin and Latin/Italic epigraphy. On the linguistic side, his main interests involve the history of Greek and Latin, their development from Proto-Indo-European and the reconstruction of Proto-Indo-European itself.
Vine earned his Ph.D. in linguistics and Bachelor’s degree in classics, both from Harvard University.
