MARIN INDEPENDENT JOURNAL -- Niccolo Caldararo, a lecturer of Anthropology, writes an opinion piece saying that the efforts to increase housing density in Marin weaken environmental protections for wildlife and the residents’ quality of life. “People representing efforts to increase density in Marin argue that we lack the housing they think we need,” Caldararo writes. “Speaking for the people of Marin, they think they know better. But the effect of efforts by CALM — Coalition for a Livable Marin — and groups like it, are not to build the housing choices they espouse, but rather to weaken environmental protections for wildlife and our quality of life.”
