Sarah Ladipo Manyika
Sarah Ladipo Manyika was raised in Nigeria and has lived in Kenya, France, and England. She holds a Ph.D. from University of California, Berkeley, and teaches literature at SF State. Her writing includes essays, academic papers, reviews and short stories. Her first novel, In Dependence, is published by Legend Press (London) and Cassava Republic Press (Abuja).
Wendy MacNaughton
MacNaughton is an illustrator and a graphic journalist based in San Francisco. Her documentary series Meanwhile tells the stories of communities through drawings and the subject’s own words. She has illustrated two other recent books: Lost Cat, A True Story of Love, Desperation and GPS Technology by Caroline Paul and MacNaughton and The Essential Scratch and Sniff Guide to Wine by Richard Betts. McNaughton is an artist-in-residence at Intersection for the Arts.
Writers on Writing
The Creative Writing Department opens its Writers on Writing course to the public on Mondays this semester. Taught by Peter Orner, the course features faculty and visiting writers reading from their works and discussing their creative process.
