Lauren Shufran
Lauren Shufran won the 2013 Ottoline Morrell and Motherwell prizes for Inter Arma, her first book. She is a doctoral candidate at University of California, Santa Cruz, where she studies Renaissance lyric and religious enthusiasm in seventeenth-century England. She received her Master of Arts in English and Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University.

r. erica doyle’s work has been anthologized in Best American Poetry, Our Caribbean: A Gathering of Gay and Lesbian Writing from the Antilles, Gumbo: A Celebration of African American Writing, Bum Rush the Page: A Def Poetry Jam, Gathering Ground: A Reader Celebrating Cave Canem’s First Decade and Voices Rising: Celebrating 20 Years of Black Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Writing. Her poetry and fiction appear in journals including Ploughshares, Callaloo, Bloom, From the Fishouse, Blithe House Quarterly and Sinister Wisdom. She has received grants and awards from the Hurston/Wright Foundation, Astraea Lesbian Writers Fund, D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities, Humanities Council of D.C. and Poets and Writers. She was also a New York Foundation for the Arts Poetry Fellow. doyle is an administrator in the New York City public schools and facilitates Tongues Afire, a free creative writing workshop for lesbians and transgender people of color.
