The Creative Writing Department opens its Writers on Writing course to the public every Monday evening of the semester. Taught by Donna de la Perrière, the course features faculty and visiting writers reading from their works and discussing their creative process.

Aimee Phan

Phan teaches in Master of Fine Arts programs at California College of the Arts. A 2010 National Endowment of the Arts Creative Writing Fellow, Phan received her M.F.A. from University of Iowa, where she won a Maytag Fellowship. Her first book, We Should Never Meet, was named a Notable Book by the Kiryama Prize in fiction and 2005 Asian American Literary Awards finalist. She has received fellowships from the MacDowell Arts Colony and Hedgebrook. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, USA Today, Guernica, The Rumpus and The Oregonian, among others.
