Mexican Music, with a Cuban Twist, at SF State

SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE -- John Calloway’s grooving Afro-Cuban Jazz Ensemble at San Francisco State University plays Mexican regional music, and Mexican melodies cooked the Afro-Cuban way, at its free spring concert Thursday, May 7, at Knuth Hall on a program called “Mexico Lindo — Desde Guadalajara hasta La Habana.” Flutist Miguel Martinez joins the band for the occasion.
