SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS -- Befera, meanwhile, had gone off to San Francisco State, where she majored in theatre, and started working as a professional actor. She did a national tour with a Shakespeare company. Eventually she started doing theatrical publicity, PR being a skill she’d learned from her father, longtime publicist Vic Befera. Befera has a very busy professional life, with her PR company, but both their children are grown and out of the house, and Befera’s staff is able to cover for her. “And, one of the advantages of ‘Angels’ is that it is two- and three-character scenes for the most part, so we can work around conflicts in early rehearsals,” McLeod said. “We don't need the full cast every night.”
