Professor Boyd Helps Create Curriculum for High School LGBT Studies Class

USA TODAY -- The course will cover the history of gender and sexuality, the different experiences of the LGBT community and national and international current events around related to LGBT issues, Schlax explains. The class is set to have a few guest speakers such as Cleve Jones, an LGBT rights activist. Instructor Lyndsey Schlax worked with LYRIC, a LGBTQ youth organization, the SF LGBT Center and professors Nan Boyd from San Francisco State University and Ardel Thomas from City College of San Francisco to develop the curriculum.
