PLAY: Process, Activism, Subversion

Saturday, September 19, 2015 (All day) to Thursday, October 15, 2015 (All day)
Image for Play: Process, Activism, Subversion
This exhibition explores play as an artistic process, with varying results. Works can suggest the childlike in their simplicity or loose structure. Or they may gleefully subvert the status quo, through both sharp wit and disregard for authority. Or both. Working throughout California, the artists in the exhibition share a playful interpretation of cause and effect, the rational, the expected, the real and the imagined. Featuring works in a variety of media: painting, drawing video, photography, mixed media, soft sculpture, performance and more. Organized by Professor of Art Chris Finley with the Fine Arts Gallery. Gallery hours: Wednesdays - Saturdays, 11am - 4pm. Reception: September 19, 1 - 3pm. Free.
