LOS ANGELES TIMES -- “Orson Welles once said that what governs the Academy Awards aren’t always the best films but what Hollywood [executives] make to impress one,” said Joseph McBride, a film historian and Cinema professor at San Francisco State University. “It’s really an industry problem, and it’s time for people to examine their consciences for what films they green-light. The scale of films is too narrow.”
