Alum Lisa Hilton to Perform at Pepperdine University

MALIBU SURFSIDE NEWS -- Since the age of 7, Malibu resident Lisa Hilton has played piano in some capacity. She started lessons at 8 and went on to study in the Music Department for a year at San Francisco State University. But Hilton became disenchanted with playing classical music and learning other people’s songs, and actually decided to quit. She eventually earned a Bachelor’s degree in art and design from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and also attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Hilton decided she would simply write her own music that she actually enjoyed. That decision launched a career that has sent her across the country and helped her record 18 albums to date. Hilton will perform at Smothers Theater again on March 4 to promote her latest album, “Nocturnal.”
