SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE -- This is not to say that director Allison Page doesn’t draw out some nice comic moments from her ensemble of eight. One especially noteworthy actor is Casey Spiegel, who’s still a senior at San Francisco State, as Cody, Stuart’s boyfriend. Not only does he have some of the play’s best lines — straight men, he says, serve only bad snacks, like “Doritos and Budweiser” — Spiegel has such a beguiling way of delivering them, turning solemn and piercing in his expression but with a light lilt in his voice, that he overshadows the protagonist. You almost wish the play were “Adventures in Cody.”
