She served as chief leadership officer for the Palmdale School District for two years and was superintendent/principal of Hughes-Elizabeth Lakes School District in Antelope Valley for three years. She has also served as an English and language arts teacher, Title 1 coordinator/at-risk teacher, elementary and middle school principal and director of curriculum, instruction and assessment. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from San Francisco State University.
