Alum Jamil Nushwat Named Tulare County Supervising Attorney

PORTERVILLE RECORDER -- Nushwat brings nearly a decade of prosecutorial experience to the position, having been with the office of the district attorney since 2007. As a deputy district attorney, Nushwat has prosecuted general misdemeanors and felonies in Visalia and Porterville, as well as auto theft and gang crimes. Most recently he has served in the Major Crimes Division as a homicide prosecutor. Nushwat obtained his Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from San Francisco State University in 1998 and his Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco in 2005. He is a past president of the Visalia Host Lions Club in Visalia. “Jamil has proven himself to be a formidable prosecutor and a leader in our office,”District Attorney Tim Ward said. “I look forward to his mentorship of other attorneys and his continued dedication to making our community safe.”
