Romanian director Tudor Giurgiu shows the California premiere of his feature film, Why Me?. Based on a true story, the film portrays a young idealistic prosecutor trying to crack a case against a senior colleague accused of corruption. His honor and sense of justice are put on the line. Free.

The School of Cinema opens its The Best of Polish Cinema course to the public on Wednesday evenings this fall. The screenings proceed chronologically from the 1950s to present, showcasing the most memorable works of the greatest Polish directors. All films will be shown with English subtitles. Featured as Cinema 401, the course is taught by Professor Steven Kovacs with graduate student Katarzyna Rogawska.
