Four of the hottest emerging playwrights in the Bay Area -- students Ai Ebashi, R. Shawntez Jackson, Molly Krost and Daniel Schifrin -- present tales of discovery for our changing times, from the other side of chaos. Staged readings of new work. Free food will be served. $5 - $15 sliding scale (No one will be turned away due to lack of funds).

- April 25, 7pm, and April 28, 7pm: Sweet and Sour by Dan Schifrin. Directed by Joel Mullinex. Every family lives and dies in the kitchen.
- April 26, 7pm, and April 29, 4pm: Diktador by Molly Krost. Directed by Conrad Panganiban. Mothers and daughters in both 1972 and the present find themselves listening to an announcement from Presidents Ferdinand Marcos and Rodrigo Duterte that can only mean one thing. Is it absolute terror or a necessary protection? They are at odds with their leaders and at odds with each other. Who are they against? Or, better yet, who should they be against? Diktador looks at the tumultuous history of martial law in Philippines, comparing one of the bloodiest periods in the country’s past to the eerily similar signs appearing in their current administration.
- April 27, 7pm, and April 29, 1pm: Never Mind by Ai Ebashi. Directed by Amy Mueller. Stuck with a crazy monk. Haunted by a ghost. This is not what she signed up for.
- April 28, 4pm, and April 29, 7pm: Avon Lady Calling by R. Shawntez Jackson. Directed by Julius Rea. Six American refugees trying to survive under the extremes of the Mojave desert, and a narcissistic president’s “New World Order”; where nothing is as it was, until a mysterious lady with a bag of tricks, stumbles onto their doorstep.
