SF State Wind Ensemble
The SF State Wind Ensemble is comprised of about 65 musicians, including students, faculty, staff and community members. Performances feature new compositions for wind band in addition to works from the core wind literature. The ensemble is dedicated to presenting an exciting variety of challenging repertoire from all musical periods, cultures and styles. The ensemble commissions new music, presents world premieres and collaborates with renowned guest artists. Conducted by Brad Hogarth.
United States Air Force Band of the Golden West
The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West, stationed at Travis Air Force Base, is the only active duty Air Force band west of the Rockies, the Band of the Golden West is comprised of about 60 talented and versatile airmen-musicians under the command of Capt. Rafael F. Toro-Quiñones. In addition to performing for civilian communities throughout California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona and Utah, the band supports 13 Air Force Bases, eight Air Force Reserve Wings and six recruiting squadrons in more than 250 annual performances for 1.5 million listeners. Conducted by Capt. Joe Hansen.
