Faculty pianists Inara Morgenstern and Victoria Neve perform on the University's Clementi fortepiano. Fifty years ago, Serena de Bellis acquired a fortepiano (manufactured in London by Musio Clementi and Company, circa 1808 - 1809) for the Frank V. de Bellis Collection that still supports the SF State music curriculum. The harpsichord-shaped frame constructed of oak and mahogany offers a gentle sound -- transparent and capable of subtle nuance familiar to the great composers of the era. Free.
