THE MORNING CALL (ALLENTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA) -- The original idea for bicycle theatre came to Silverman when she felt stalled creatively. She had just gotten her Master of Fine Arts in playwriting from San Francisco State University and “I was already feeling kind of bored by creating plays sitting alone in my room talking to myself.”
At the same time, she was getting more into cycling.
“I was doing the thing where I was starting to push my body to the limits of how many miles I could complete on a certain day … pushing my body further and harder than I thought possible,” she says.
“And I’m not a jock, like, I was not a sporty kid. So this was kind of a new experience for me.”
