KPIX-CHANNEL 5 (SAN FRANCISCO) -- In an in-studio interview, SF State Professor Joe Tuman talks about Super Tuesday election results.

Tuman discussed turnout among voters of different ages. He said people age 50 and older represent the largest bloc of voters in the U.S.

“Young voters, like the kind that [Bernie] Sanders has energized, actually have been voting as well, but historically their record is poor,” Tuman said. This generation of people — millennials — is the next big generation that’s going to replace the baby boomers. But they haven’t done it yet because they aren’t likely voters, consistently.
