Photo of Gail DawsonGail Dawson’s work is an exploration of the tension between the precariousness of the world and the way our perception seeks to stabilize it. Her works represent time through continual shifts of form.

Exploring a range of subjects and using a variety of mediums, she represents metamorphosis, not as a sequence of discrete moments, but as the cumulative effect of duration on form; the temporal sequence of stop-motion animation to re-present lived time, and three dimensional constructions to permit examination of past, present and future, simultaneously.
