Saudi Arabia vs. Qatar: The Battle for Regional Hegemony The rise of Al-Jazeera's influence

The research paper describes Qatar's rise to political power in the Persian Gulf. Qatar's independence began in 1971, where Qatar was more of a follower than a leader. Next, the paper dives into the Arab Spring uprisings, where Al-Jazeera, Qatar's state-funded news agency, captures the beginning of the social movement that forever changed the Arab World. Once the Arab Spring uprisings are over, the paper shifts its focus to the boycott Qatar is facing against a coalition of GCC states. The ending of the paper serves as a looking ahead into the future of the region where Qatar has officially become a linchpin.
