Morrison Artists Series: Afiara String Quartet

SF State's Morrison Fellowship Quartet-in-Residence from 2007 to 2009, the Afiara String Quartet is widely noted for its engaging, authentic presence and performances balancing "intensity and commitment" with "frequent moments of tenderness," The Montreal Gazette writes. The quartet won the 2008 Concert Artists Guild International Competition, 2010 Young Canadian Musicians Award and top prizes at the Munich ARD International Music and Banff International String Quartet competitions.
