We have a winner! Trevor Myers, a Master of Arts candidate in Industrial Arts, won the California State University Research Competition, held at CSU San Bernardino on May 1 and 2. He won in the Creative Arts category.
Myers’ product design, “Improving the Eye-Drop Experience,” addresses research that has shown medication errors and poor ergonomics to be problems with eye-droppers and their packaging.
This award adds to Myers’ list of accolades, including winning a student design competition at the Morton Kesten Summit, a scholarship for Inclusive Design from Hearth Homes and placing as a finalist in the Spark: Concept Awards.
“The awards that Trevor has received are testament to his ability to focus design around real human needs and to come up with innovative yet empathic solutions to everyday problems,” says Hsiao-Yun Chu, associate professor of Design and Industry.
The annual competition promotes excellence in undergraduate and graduate scholarly research and creative activity by recognizing outstanding student accomplishments throughout the CSU’s 23 campuses.
