College of Liberal & Creative Arts Centers and Institutes open house [Canceled]
Please note: This event is canceled to help limit the potential exposure of novel coronavirus (COVID-19). For updated information on SF State’s response to COVID-19, visit the novel coronavirus information page.
During the Gator Days events, learn about the San Francisco State research and service organizations that build bridges between the University and the world outside its doors. Free.
These centers of research and creative activity expand discovery and learning beyond classrooms, in order to introduce students to wider communities and these communities to SF State’s expertise, research, creative projects and opportunities. They engage in research, promote the arts and culture of various regions and communities, and give students and faculty valuable opportunities to deepen their knowledge about subjects as diverse as disability rights, music, the study of Greece and Greek culture, the Iranian diaspora, and Japan and Japanese culture.
Through public education, research, consulting, art exhibits, concerts, film screenings, lectures, poetry, and symposia, these organizations bring in fresh perspectives, hands-on experiences and critical inquiry — all in service to SF State’s commitment to global justice, cultural equity and creative expression. Some offer internships, work study, host visiting scholars and offer opportunities for faculty and students to connect with people with shared interests.
