Overview
Five contemporary artists create new work in response to the artist Ruth Asawa and The Garden of Remembrance, a memorial to Japanese American incarceration during WWII that was one of the artist's last public artworks. Featuring: Mark Baugh Sasaki, Tina Kashiwagi, Paul Kitagaki, Jr., Lisa Solomon, TT Takemoto. The catalog will feature essays from Lewis Kawahara, Weston Teruya, and Patricia Wakida. This project is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, The Henri and Tomoye Takahashi Charitable Foundation, the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, and San Francisco State University's Instructionally Related Student Activities Fund.
